EDWARD  JACKSON  EVANS,  JR.

HEADLAND. . .Edward Jackson “Jack” Evans, Jr., a resident of Headland, died Saturday afternoon, July 6, 2019, at his home. He was 72.

            Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.

            Jack Evans was born and reared in Montgomery, son of the late Edward Jackson Evans, Sr. and Marjorie Holman Evans. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery and later received a B. S. Degree in Business Administration from Troy University. Jack served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. He was formerly employed as an Insurance Executive. Jack formerly lived in Birmingham, Jacksonville, FL and Tallahassee, FL before moving to Headland in 2007.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Kay Atkinson Evans, Headland; two daughters, Ashley Evans and Allison Davis (Kevin), all of Headland; a son, Lance Evans (Melissa), Land O’ Lakes, FL; a sister, Gayle Burlingame (Allen), Prattville, AL; three grandchildren, Lincoln Evans, Haydin Evans and Rylan Davis; a sister-in-law, Jill Atkinson Solomon (John W.), Headland; several nieces and nephews.
