WHITE HOUSE, TENNESSEE. . .Edward Joseph “Eddie” Haydel, a resident of White House, Tennessee, formerly of Dothan and Auburn, died early Friday morning, October 15, 2021, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 67.


   Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in the Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, near Newville, with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Springs Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Josie Whiddon, 359 County Road 145 East, Headland, AL 36345 or the Kidney Foundation, S. E. Alabama Chapter, P. O. Box 12505, Birmingham, AL 35202.


   Eddie Haydel was born and raised in Gretna, Louisiana, son of the late George Haydel and Bessie Waguespack Haydel. He lived in Dothan and Auburn before moving to White House, Tennessee in April 2021. Eddie was a member of the St. Columba Church in Dothan. He was retired as an Insurance Salesman with Liberty National Life Insurance. Eddie was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Haydel and Rudolph Haydel.


   Surviving relatives include his wife, Sheila Taylor Haydel; a daughter, Emily Koontz (Justin), White House, TN; a son, Spencer Haydel (Carolyn), Madison, AL; two sisters, Juanita Haas (Russell), and Sylvia Holmberg (Ron); five brothers, Dr. Michael Haydel (Cynthia), Dr. Charles Haydel (Mary), George Haydel (Diane), James Haydel (Linda), and Robley Haydel (Geneva); four grandchildren, Emma Koontz, Harrison Koontz, Savannah Haydel and Cohen Haydel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Taylor family, Lee O and Debbie Taylor, Marjorie and Wayne Elmore, John Wayne Massey, a deceased sister-in-law, Shirley Taylor Massey, and a deceased brother-in-law, Robert Taylor; several nieces and nephews.
