Edwin (Bud) Hickman a lifelong resident of Coffee County passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at his home.  He was 82.


 


          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Enterprise with Rev. Sonny Moore and Dr. Lawrence Phipps officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 14th from 5 to 7 PM at Searcy Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 North Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.


           Mr. Hickman was born on September 17, 1929 to George and Fannie Hickman.  He was a veteran of the Cold War serving in both the Navy and Army.  After his service in the military he worked at Sessions Company recently completing his 52nd year.


           Mr. Hickman was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Elise Johnson Hickman, his mother, Julia Francis Hooks Hickman (Fannie) father, George Hickman, brothers, James Hickman and Fred Hickman, sister, Vera Hickman Williams.


           He is survived by his children, John Hickman (Barbara) Enterprise, and Jerri Hickman Kandle, Montgomery; three grandchildren, Kenneth Kandle (Barbara) Montgomery; Johnny Hickman (Jennifer) Enterprise; Jill Hickman Foley (Dave) Keller, TX; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Hickman, John David Foley, Brody Hickman; sister, Sara Jo Burks (Larry) Troy; loving companion and friend, Dorothy Locke and her family; several extended family members and many friends.
