Edwin James Clark, 79, a resident of Pensacola, died unexpectedly Friday, April 7, 2023 in Pensacola, Florida.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephanie Cox and Pastor Larry Skipper officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 Sunday in the chapel prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P O Box 1170, 36302.

Mr. Clark was born January 11, 1944 in Dothan to James Tyler and Vermelle Skipper Clark. He was a 1961 graduate of Rehobeth High School and received his accounting degree from Wallace Community College. He was a member of the Army Reserve from 1962-1968.

In 1964, he began his railroad and transportation career where he served in various capacities through the years. He joined Earl Durden in 1982 at Rail Management Corporation where he worked until his retirement. In 2006, Mr. Clark moved to Pensacola where he lived for the past 17 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is predeceased by his parents and an infant brother, Jimmy Clark.

Survivors include his wife Jennifer Clark of Pensacola, FL; two daughters, Jennifer Daffron (Eric) and Natalie Gowen (Jason) all of Dothan; four grandchildren, Garrett Daffron (Haley) of Birmingham, Emily Daffron, Mary Kate Gowen and Jackson Gowen, all of Dothan; a sister, Janet Clark Hollis (Johnny Mack) of Newton; a sister-in-law, Zannatta M. Hagan of Dothan; nieces and nephews, John Hollis (Kim) and Jordan and Mack Hollis of Newton; a special furry companion, “Sophie”.
