ELISA  PAIGE  PARAMORE

 

DOTHAN. . . Elisa P. Paramore, a resident of Cone Drive, Dothan, died Thursday morning, March 22, 2012, at her home. She was 42.

            Memorial services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, March 25, 2012 in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend George Bryan officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Cancer Fund, c/o Southeast Cancer Center, P.O. Box 5609, Dothan, AL 36302 or to Alacare Hospice, 3379 West Main Street, Dothan, AL  36305.

            Elisa Paramore was born in Dothan but was reared in Jacksonville, Florida where she lived for seventeen years before returning to Dothan in 1987.  She was a graduate of Middleburg High School in Middleburg, Florida.  Elisa received B.S. Degrees in English and Psychology from Troy University. She furthered her education by receiving Masters Degrees in Psychology and English also from Troy. Elisa was currently employed by Troy University in Dothan as Student Support Services Counselor and as an Instructor.  While teaching at Troy, she was instrumental in organizing two remedial English courses. In earlier years, Elisa was employed as an instructor in Psychology and as a tutor at Wallace College. 

            Elisa was the faculty sponsor of the Christian Fellowship at Troy University.  She formerly served as a Sunday school teacher at Selma Baptist Church and as an officer of the Dothan Pilot Club. Elisa was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church in Abbeville.  

            Surviving relatives include her parents, Thomas G. and Sandra Mathis Paramore, Dothan; a brother, Thomas Paramore, Jr. and wife Erika, Louisville, Kentucky; her maternal grandmother, Julia W. Mathis, Dothan; her other special loving parents, Randy and Brenda Roberson, Abbeville; and Billy H. and Linda Paramore, Skipperville; a special grandmother, Wilda Reeves, Dothan; a niece, Bea Paramore and a nephew, Thomas Paramore, III; many friends and loving family.

            The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Elisa’s nurse, Melissa Dean, and also her care givers, LaTonya Robinson and Tresa McCloud for the loving care and kindness shown to Elisa during her illness.
