Emma Jean McLeod, a resident of Ashford, was called Home by her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 13, 2020 at her residence. She was 73 years old.


Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Ashford with Pastor Noah Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Friday evening from 4-6 pm.


Mrs. McLeod was born to the late David Blackshear and Minnie Mae Wilsher on October 26, 1947. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Ashford, Alabama, there she served until death. Mrs. McLeod was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie James McLeod. To this union is one daughter.


Mrs. McLeod was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her three brothers, Robert Graham, Jr., Wayne Wilsher, and James Wilsher, her two sisters, Mae Cahterine Wilsher and Sallie Blackshear-Hinson


Mrs. McLeod leaves to cherish her loving and devoted memories to one daughter, Jennetta (Charles) Bigham; her two granddaughters, Taneisha (Lynn) Grimsley and Deonna McLeod; One great granddaughter, Genesis MaKayla Franco; one great grandson, Emerson Jean McLeod; her five sisters, Mayrene (Homer) Granger of Pansey, Alabama, Cheryl (Noah) Reeves of Ashford, Alabama, Eva Mae Chisolm of Wadmalow Island, South Carolina, Hattie Blackshear of Quincy, Florida, and Belinda (Farris) Blackshear George of Quincy, Florida; three brothers, John (Mildred) Wilsher of Wilson, North Carolina, David (Bobbie) Blackshear Jr. of Quincy, Florida, and Zachariah (Jo-Ann) Blackshear of Quincy, Florida; her two God daughters, Sheneka (Rashon) Leverette, and Kaydence Bryant; two God sons, Michael Thornton and Sydney (Karma) Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; plus two life long friends, Selector Kirkland and Mary Ralls; two close and dear friends, Lessie Johnson and Regina Saffold.
