Mrs. Emma Jones, age 91, of Newton, passed away Friday night, November 11, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Enterprise with Pastor Brian Simoneaux officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church “Mash Fund”, 4127 Rucker Blvd., Enterprise, AL, 36330.

Mrs. Jones was born February 5, 1931 in Fairmont, West Virginia to Harold and Vivian Martin and was a graduate of Fairmont High School. She spent four years in Germany during her husband’s military career. The majority of her working career was spent as a manager in the food service industry. Mrs. Jones was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Russell Zane Jones.

Survivors include a son Rick (Cindy) Jones of Shiloh, GA; a daughter Elizabeth Jean (Herman) Fagley of Gainesville, FL; five grandchildren, Jeannie Dopson (Robert), Curtis Jones, Tara Light, Mathew Gibson, and Christopher Jones; three great-grandchildren Robert T. Dopson, Emily Light, and Harrison Light; and one sister-in-law Edna Earl Jones of Alamo, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Kristen Steeves of Dayspring Hospice for her exceptional care of their loved one.
