Mrs. Evelyn Bowden Martin, a resident of Dothan, passed away Saturday morning, December 24, 2022. She was 91 years old.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday morning, December 28, 2022, at Rehobeth Baptist Church with Reverend Travis Free Officiating. Interment will follow in Rehobeth Cemetery, Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to service time.

Mrs. Martin grew up in Wicksburg, Alabama. She met the love of her life, Johnny Eugene Martin, and they were married September 12, 1947. They were married 69 years. She was employed with the Houston County School System as a cafeteria worker for many years, and at her retirement was the assistant manager. She was a lifelong member of Rehobeth Baptist Church. Mrs. Martin was a devoted mother, sister, wife, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Mrs. Martin is survived by 3 brothers; Don Boutwell, Rex Davis, and Tex Davis (Sheryl); a daughter: Becky Odom (Ronald); 2 sons, Danny Martin (Ann) and Wayne Martin (Kathy); 7 grandchildren, David Odom, Jonathan Odom (Mitzi), Daniel Martin (Amber), Kacey Williams (Jared), Tracy Martin (Brittany), Michael Martin, and Josh Martin (Kala); and 12 great grandchildren also survive.
