Mr. Finis A.“Tom” Thompson of Hartford, AL passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019.  He was 69 years old.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Lime Springs cemetery with military honors and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday August 14, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m.  

Mr. Thompson was born on August 17, 1949 in Hughes, AR to the late Russell Wilson and Hettie Lee Booker Thompson. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was known and loved by many who called him a friend. He was affectionately known by his great-grandson, J.T. as “Tom Tom”. He was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing gospel music and playing his guitar, as well as, serving as a deacon. In his spare time, he enjoyed a good fishing trip. Mr. Thompson faithfully and proudly served his country during the Vietnam era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, R.W., Bob, Butch and Lindy Thompson and one sister, Mayris Lee Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Thompson of Hartford, AL, two sons, Allen Thompson and Stacy Thompson, grandson, Stacey Thompson, Jr and granddaughter, Dana Thompson, great-grandson, Hunter Thompson and great-granddaughter, Anna Lisa Thompson, two stepdaughters, Cathy Hawkins and Teresa Bedsole (Blayne), one grandson, Christopher Bedsole (Tori) and one great-grandson Joseph Theron “J.T.” Bedsole, one sister, Barbara Sue Sharp, and two brothers, Rex Thompson and Jack Thompson.
