Ms. Frances Merle Newsome of Samson, AL passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023. She was 77 years old.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with Bro. Joe Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the El Bethel Baptist Church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

 Frances was born in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Coley and Frances Gladys Kidd Windham.  Frances loved her “fur baby”, Angel.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Basil V. “Buck” Newsome; one sister, Jeanette Carter; one brother, Roy Windham.

 She is survived by nieces, Annette Hudspeth (Randy), Samson, AL, Patricia Simmons (Curtis), Chancellor, AL and Stephanie Newsome (Joe), Samson, AL; nephew, James Carter, Samson, AL and great nephew, Zack Carter Samson, AL.
