ASHFORD. . .Garland Wyndal Loyless, a resident of Ashford, died Monday night, October 9, 2023, in the Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alexander City, Alabama. He was 90.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, October 12, 2023, in the Antioch Baptist Church, near Ashford, with Reverend Steven Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Avon.  Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Mr. Loyless was born in Miller County, Georgia and was reared in Decatur County, near Bainbridge, son of the late George William Loyless and Lettie Pearl McLendon Loyless. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Loyless was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was retired as owner and operator of Loyless Donuts in Avon. Mr. Loyless formerly served as a Councilman for the Town of Avon. He was preceded in death by a former wife, Billie Deason Loyless, a step son-in-law, Phillip Aaron Martin, a sister, Mavis Roberts and a brother, James Loyless, and the mother of his children, Patricia Baggerly.

            Surviving relatives include his wife Eva Lane Garrett Loyless, a daughter, Regina Norwood (Jerry), Fountain, FL; three sons, Roger Loyless (Betty), Brinson, Ga; Wyndal Loyless, Panama City, FL; and Hilton Loyless (Dena), Dothan; a step-daughter, Debra Garrett Martin, Ashford; a step-son, Joseph Garrett, Ashford; a brother, Joe Loyless (Ann), Brinson, GA; grandchildren, Wendy Loyless, Allison Faulk and Tyler Loyless; step-grandchildren, Aaron B. Martin III (Brenan), and Ragan Garrett; step-great-grandchildren, Braydon Martin and Finley Emberton.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Stewart Exum, Dennis Morrison, Larry Williams, Ronald Parker, Monty Cox and Andy Bertagnolli.
