Gary “Bubba” Ganous, of Clayhatchee, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at his home. He was 73.



A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2018 at Providence Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Deese officiating.



In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.



Gary was born October 9, 1944, in Wicksburg, Alabama. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather wh


o loved giving everyone a nickname. He was an avid Alabama fan and also enjoyed deer hunting and The Flats.



He was preceded in death by his parents, George Ganous and Bernice Ellis Ganous; one brother; and one sister.



Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Margie Ganous of Clayhatchee; two sons: Gregg Ganous of Kings Mountain, NC and Gerald Ganous of Enterprise; daughter, Lisa Summerfield (Terry) of Mount Holly, NC; four brothers: Ricky Ganous, Sam Thomley, Charles Thomley, and Tim Thomley; sister, Debbie Taylor; six grandchildren: Gregory and Cameron Ganous, Gabe Ganous, Jordan and Jared Chapman, and Jessica Lambert; five great-grandchildren: Ava, Mia, Anna Kate, Cooper, and Jolie Claire; and Papa’s Girl Dixie.
