Gaston Eugene Grant, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida formerly of Geneva passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012.  He was 31.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Earl Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in Forrest Hill cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 24, from 6 until 8 p.m.

 

Gaston was born October 28, 1980, in Geneva to Wanda Alfreda Grant and Gaston Tolbert, Sr.  He was a devoted son, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend that was granted his Angel wings on August 18, 2012.  Gaston attended the city schools of Geneva, Alabama graduating from Geneva High School in 2000.  He later attended Jacksonville College earning qualifications as a massage therapist.  He later moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he resided for the last three years and continued his work as a massage therapist.         Gaston was a young man with the love for all of God’s people.  He had a contagious smile and a big heart.  He had a love for poetry and was a great artist.  He was a pleasant person that was liked by all; his teachers, adults, peers, family, and friends.  There was never a task he was asked to do that he refused.  He had a sharing and giving heart and spirit.

 

Survivors include his mother and step father, Wanda Grant (Henry Majors), Geneva; father, Gaston Eugene Tolbert (Mary), Opp; one sister, Laquasha Grant; two brothers, Jermaine Grant and Gregory King; three nieces, two nephews, a host of aunt, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
