Clifton Eugene “Gene” Mock, Jr. of New Brockton, Alabama passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021.  He was 56.  

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Kerry Mitchell officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise directing.   

Gene was born October 12, 1964 in Florida to Clifton Eugene “Pete” Mock, Sr. and Merelois Boyd.  He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Jimmy Boyd; sister, Linda Lee Bell; and step-sons, Johnny Scott and Kenny Lee Bledsoe.  Although he had a rugged exterior, Gene was a devoted husband and father who loved his family dearly. 

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Mock; mother, Merelois Lewis of New Brockton; son, William Benjamin Mock (Shuronda Anciso) of Hartford; daughter, Christy Joe Ruth Mock; step-son, Joseph Lee Spangenberg; step-daughters, Jessica Cook of Elba and Alaina Cook of New Brockton; brothers, Ray Barber of Daytona, Florida, and Robert Lee “Skeeter” Boyd, III of Trenton, Florida; sister, Billie Jean Hardy of Rosewood, Florida; grandchildren, Cody Pete Mock, Dalton Mock, Destiny Mercedes Mock, Abigail Cook, Jessie Strain, Stephen “Cornbread” Ballard, and Everly “Butterbean” Ballard.
