George Clyde Farris age 66, a resident of Elba, Alabama passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at his home in Elba, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 14, 2019 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ken Wilson and Brother Reagan Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Hayes Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Saturday, from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted or those wishing to make memorials can do so to a charity of their choice.

Mr. Farris attended the University of Alabama and Troy Sate University where he received bachelor degrees in Accounting and Computer Science. He began working as a boilermaker, and later transitioned into computer programming where he found his passion. He was currently employed as a Senior Systems Analyst with TSYS.

He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. George was always eager to see his girls, but lived for those special visits from his grandchildren.

He leaves behind a Wife- Kay Lewis Farris, Elba, AL, Daughter - Brandee (Hal) Ambramson, Woodstock, GA, Daughter - Tiffany (Troy) Bryan, Andalusia, AL, Grandson - John Tyler Bryan, Andalusia, AL, and Granddaughter - Gentri Abramson of Woodstock, Georgia. He is also survived by Sister - Martha Ann Farris, Huntsville, AL, Sister - Betty Crews, Samson, AL, Brother - Roy Farris, Samson, AL, and his Mother-in-law Margarette Lewis of Elba, Alabama which he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death at an early age by his parents Catherine and Woodrow Wilson Farris, along with siblings, Wilson Farris, Billy R. Farris, and Sandra Sailors.
