GEORGE  HAROLD  GRIMSLEY,  JR.


 


DOTHAN. . .George Harold (Hal) Grimsley, Jr., a resident of Dothan, died early Saturday evening, July 21, 2012, at his home. He was 55.



            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in the Haleburg United Methodist Church with Reverend Tony Rosetta and Dr. Ray Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Haleburg Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.



            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Haleburg United Methodist Church, c/o Marlene Arnold, 5614 County Road 71, Shorterville, AL. 36373.



            Hal Grimsley was born and reared in Haleburg in Henry County, son of the late George Harold Grimsley, Sr. and Mildred Oleta Pelham Grimsley. He lived in Haleburg all his life until moving to Dothan in 2003. Hal was a graduate of Headland High School and also received a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Science from Auburn University. He was self  employed as the owner and operator of Grimsley Professional Lawncare in Dothan. In earlier years, Hal was engaged in farming. He was a member of the Haleburg United Methodist Church.



            Surviving relatives include his wife, Glenda Hatfield Watson, Dothan; two daughters, Ariann Grimsley Webster and husband, Lee, Helena, AL; and Haley Grimsley, Auburn University; a step-son, Michael Watson, Dothan; a grandson, George Webster; a sister, Karen Grimsley Baxter, Haleburg; the mother of his daughters, Debra Anderson, Auburn; two nieces and two nephews; a very special friend, Mike McNeal, and a special cousin, Charlotte Doster.



            Serving as active pallbearers will be Tim Taylor, Mike Jackson, Rusty Thompson, Harnage Elliott, Lawton Ed Armstrong and John Martin.
