ABBEVILLE. . .George Shannon Anders, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at his home. He was 78.

There are no funeral or memorial services planned at this time. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.      

Mr. Anders was born in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Edward Anders and Laura Weber Anders. He formerly lived in Clewiston and LaBelle, Florida before moving to Henry County, Alabama in 1980. He was employed as a truck driver for most of his lifetime. Mr. Anders was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lee Green Anders and a step-daughter, Tammy Wilkerson.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Linda Anders, Ft. Myers, FL; four sons, Terry Anders, Owen Wilkerson, Rehobeth; Michael Hester (Crystal), Dothan; and Mike Anders (Kelly), LaBelle, FL; several grandchildren.
