Ms. Georgina Blackburn Freeman, 66, a resident of Dothan, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, following a brief battle with cancer at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. (CDT) Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at George Cemetery in Blakely, Georgia, with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Monday.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Resource Center (1314 Westgate Pkwy, Suite #2, Dothan, AL 36303).

Ms. Georgina was born on December 22, 1956, in Blakely, Georgia, to the late Lester Eugene Blackburn and Quida Verne Mock. She spent all her early life in Blakely and was a 1975 graduate of Early County High School. Ms. Georgina worked as an administrative assistant at Cloverdale Elementary School and worked for the Early County 2055 (Economic Development). Most recently she worked for Farley Nuclear Plant as an administrative assistant. During her free time, she enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. Ms. Georgina was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two daughters, Tici Bryan (Alan) of Dothan, and Heather Freeman, of Buford Georgia; a brother, Roddy Blackburn (Jenny) of Leesburg, Florida; seven grandchildren, Sidney Anderson (Justin), Haylee Hatcher, Ansley Bryan, Anna Bryan, Peyton Bryan, Brynlee Bryan, and Cooper Freeman; great-grandchild, Evelyn Anderson; niece, Dawn Ellis; great-niece, Preslee Ellis; many friends and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Alan Bryan, Peyton Bryan, Jarrett Freeman, Dave Lindy, Zeb Owens, and Mike Azar.
