Mr. Anderson was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan, to the late Albert Raynold Anderson and Juanita Hurst Anderson. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  “Andy” as he was referred to by his military colleagues, invested 21 years in military service to his country, which took him to various locations on the globe, including Japan, England, Vietnam and numerous bases in the United States.  He served with honor and distinction as an instructor of aviation mechanics.  His training and experience in the military inspired and prepared him for support mission work in the Civil Air Patrol as a search and rescue pilot in Alaska and instilled an adventurous spirit, which served him all his days.

He lived in Prattville, Alabama for four decades, before moving to Headland, Alabama almost three years ago. After retiring from the military, he was also retired as the Executive Director of the Montgomery Humane Society, and then worked as an Alabama State License Inspector. He was a Mason (Blue Lodge and Shriner) for over 50 years. He was also a loyal member of the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.

Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Orvil R. Anderson; and his sisters, Lenora Miller, Mavis Rocheleau, Muriel Calhoun, and Berta Dezomits.

Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife, Sherry Wilson Anderson; his daughters, Paula Kashouty, Toni Roberts, Geri Dokos, Dana Koshmer (Bouik), and Debra RouLaine (Bill); his son Dr. Dewey Todd (Annette); his ten grandchildren; his fourteen great-grandchildren; and his two great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons Rick Dokos, John Hobble, Jeff Hobble, Kane Kashouty, Will Todd, and son-in-law Bouik Koshmer. Honorary Pall Bearers are grandson Demetri Dokos, grandsons-in-law, Max Vandervort, Josiah Coburn, Alex England, and Matt Tietz.
