ABBEVILLE. . .Glenda Howell Skipper, a former resident of Abbeville, died Monday night, April 18, 2022, in Westside Terrace in Dothan.  She was 81.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 22, 2022, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Randy Greene officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303.

Mrs. Skipper was born in Headland and was reared in the Union Community and Abbeville, daughter of  the late Theron Roger Howell and Wynell Roney Howell. She lived most of her lifetime in Pensacola, Florida before returning to Abbeville in 1997. Mrs. Skipper was a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Pensacola. She was retired from U. S. Civil Service, Department of Defense Financial Accounting at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola. Mrs. Skipper was preceded in death by her husband, Jack G. Skipper and a brother, Roger Howell.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Jacquelyn Skipper Adams (Brian), Niceville, FL; a son, Glenn Skipper (Pamela), Pensacola, FL; a sister, Deborah Riggs (Browning), Abbeville; six grandchildren, Ben Adams, Tessa Adams, Damien Skipper, Megan Skipper, Brenna Skipper and Ansley Skipper; a brother-in-law, Don Skipper (Marilyn), Abbeville.
