Mrs. Glenda Joyce Thompson Harrell, 80, a resident of Rehobeth, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Glover Funeral Home with Chaplain Eddie Biss and Pastor Clay Greathouse officiating. Burial will follow at Memphis Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.


Flowers will be accepted.


Glenda was born September 20, 1942, in Dothan to the late Gordon Lily & Irene Cherry Thompson. She was a lifelong Dothan resident and a 1960 Dothan High School graduate. Glenda spent her life as a mother and homemaker. She is a member of Memphis Baptist Church.


She is preceded in death by, her parents; two sisters, Barbara Watkins, and Cheri Smith.


She is survived by, her husband of 61 years, Bobby Harrell; two daughters, Pam Palmer (Tim) of Dothan, and Patti Crowder of Dothan; five grandchildren, Payne Palmer (MaKayla), Logan Palmer (Sarah), Maggie Hana Palmer, Clark Crowder, and Ellie Grace Crowder; two soon to be born great-grandchildren, Elisabeth James Palmer, and Noah Scott Palmer; two sisters, Joan Thompson, and Peggy Phillips (Joe).


Serving as active pallbearers will be: Marty Collins, John McAlister, Travis Everage, Tim Watkins, Tim Weed, Eric Crowder, and Jimmy Lee Aplin.
