MIDLAND CITY…Glendolyn Bailey Stevens, a resident of Dale County, near the Echo Community, died late Wednesday morning, October 14, 2020, in a Dothan hospital. She was 80.


     Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 18, 2020, in the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tim Sewell officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.


     Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Jo Ann Ammons, 508 County Road 46, Midland City, AL 36350.


     Mrs. Stevens was born April 29, 1940 in Denver, Colorado, daughter of the late Glenn M. Bailey, Sr. and Emmaline Cartwright Bailey. She moved to Echo, Alabama in 1973 and was a member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her husband, William Rex Stevens, and her brother, Glenn M. Bailey, Jr.


     Surviving relatives include four daughters, Lori Simpson, Echo; Lisa Mauldin (Ronnie), Dothan; Lana Duncan, Slocomb; and Lynn Walker, Gordon; a son, Larry Stevens (Darla), Copperhill, TN; eight grandchildren, Alvie Simpson, Christina Andrews (Lee), Brian Bentis, Tyler Duncan (Brittney Kelley), Emily Shehane (Mitchell), Jonathon Stevens (Charlene) and Kristen Mauldin; nine great-grandchildren.
