A A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Glenise was born April 23, 1967 in Tuskegee, Alabama to Mr. Alter Russaw and Mrs. Katie Russaw Anglin. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at Elam Baptist Church in Clayton, Alabama. Glenise passionately cared for the elderly at Crown Healthcare in Eufaula, Alabama for 10 years. She later moved to Dothan, and continued her career caring for the elderly with Somerset Assisted Living facility for 15 years. Glenise was a powerful force for her children and grandchildren. She did not always tell people that she loved them, but she made sure that no one had to doubt it. A few of the most admirable things about Glenise was her unfailing Love (Romans 13:8), her silly Sense of Humor (Psalms 126:2), her unending Strength (1 Chronicles 28:20), and her Christ like Patience (Isaiah 30:18). She enjoyed rejoicing the Lord through song, and she sang like angel. When you remember Glenise, remember her through smiles not tears. Remember her heart because it was there that God found her treasure. (Luke 12:34)

Glenise was preceded in death by, her father; her grandson, Raymond Jr.; her two bonus fathers, Richard Anglin and John Helms; and her bonus sister, Gloria Marshall.

She is survived by her husband, Keith R. Helms; her mother, Katie Russaw Anglin; her four children, Brittney Russaw-Marshall, Jerina Helms, Keith S. Helms, and John Helms; her five sisters, Mary (Samuel) Williams-Faniel, Rosie (James) McCauley, Minnie Jordan, Eloise Russaw, and Dicie Russaw; her five brothers, Claude Russaw, Goodlow Russaw, Willie Albert Russaw, Elijah Russaw, and Jack Russaw; her four grandchildren, Altaar Myhand, Draymond Myhand, Avianna Myhand, and A’King Myhand; her two special friends, Vanessa Young and Michelle Tucker; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

“Clio Community Church and Mary’s Helping Hands has lost one of its biggest contributors. Mrs. Glenise faithfully donated to both our church and our newly opened Mary’s Helping Hands. We could always count on her generosity even as we faced a pandemic. Her willingness to provide monetary support did not go unnoticed, we will forever be grateful for her.” – Melvin White, Pastor and Founder
