GLENN  E.  ELLIS

 

HEADLAND. . .Glenn E. Ellis, a resident of Headland, died early Saturday morning, December 10, 2011, in a Dothan hospital. He was 77.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 13, 2011, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P. M. Tuesday at the mortuary.

            Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1449 Medical Park Drive, Birmingham, AL. 35213.

            Mr. Ellis was born in Richland County, North Dakota, son of the late Fredrick Ellis and Amalia Marohl Ellis. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Ellis moved to Headland in 1956 where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was retired from Pemco World Air Services at Napier Field. Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by a son, Russell Glenn (Rusty) Ellis.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Sheryl Granger Ellis, Headland; two daughters, Lisa Ellis Curtis and husband, Mike, Raleigh, N.C.; Sheryl Jean Ellis Luitjens, Kennesaw, GA; five grandchildren, Christian (Mo) Curtis, Natalie Curtis, Jessica Adams, John (JJ) Adams, Jr. and Steven Luitjens; a great-grandson, Rob Cathey; five sisters, Pearl Parrish and husband, Bill, Enterprise, AL; Lois Abel and husband, Buddy, Breckenridge, MN; Gwen Bolster, Moorhead, MN; Ann Medenwald and husband, Kenneth, Aberdeen, S.D.; Faye Wiese and husband, Richard, Woodstock, GA; two brothers, Eugene Ellis, Bloomington, MN; Dr. Russell Kuzel and wife, Dr. Mary, Minneapolis, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.
