Gregg Prettyman age 60, a resident of Elba, Alabama passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Memorial services will be held at a later date to be announced.
Gregg will be remembered as a master carpenter. He had an engineering mind and wasn’t afraid to tackle the most difficult jobs. He not only built countless beautiful homes, and roofed the most difficult of pitches, he also built friendships that will last a lifetime. Given the opportunity to meet him, you could count on a "ride or die" friend for life. He offered his expertise to fellow contractors often free of charge, simply to help others. Gregg had a love for anything fast with wheels, but especially Corvettes and Harley’s. He was a member of Circle City Corvettes, and always enjoyed the camaraderie among his fellow Corvette enthusiasts. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and devoted friend. He was always willing to sacrifice to be sure his family’s needs were met, and the love he had was felt and expressed daily.
He leaves behind Son - Joshua Prettyman, Elba, AL, Son - Ezekiel Prettyman, Elba, AL, Son - Robert Cullum, Elba, AL, Daughter - Brandie Prettyman, Elba, AL, Daughter - Tyra Bradley, Elba, AL, Daughter - Brianna Prettyman, Spokane, WA, and Daughter - Selenia Martinelli of Elba, Alabama. He is also survived by Brother - Jed Prettyman, Corinth, MS, Brother - Joe Prettyman, Linden, TX, Sister - Sheryl McClellan, Linden, TX, Sister - Jean Pascal, Linden, TX, Sister - Sue Chezem, Linden, TX, and Sister - Judy Adams of Eau Claire, WI, along with 15 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Prettyman, a son, Jeremiah Prettyman, along with his parents, Mary Dianne, and Ray LaVerne Prettyman.
