Gregory "Austin" Byrd, beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, uncle, and friend passed from this life on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the age of 27. He is survived by his father, Gregory Byrd; his sister, Chelsea Craig (Bill); his niece, Tatum Rich- bourg; his grandmothers Betty Byrd and Dee Har- ris (Dow); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon "Sherri" Worsley Byrd and grandfathers, Bobby Byrd and Lon Worsley.

Austin was a charis- matic soul who was well- loved, is truly missed, and will always be cherished. His story began on June 6, 1995 and the only son of Gregory and Sherri Byrd. Austin was born in Do-
than, Alabama, where he
spent a majority of his life. He lived some of his child- hood years in Gulf Shores, Alabama. While living in Dothan and in Gulf Shores, Austin would make life- long friends and was a 2014 graduate of Rehobeth High School. Some of his best memories are with his friends and family from these two special places.
Austin was renowned for his amazing smile. Ev- eryone who knew him could count on a flashing smile and an "I love you" to follow. He would be able to charm anyone into the biggest hug, and that hug would melt the heart of ev- eryone who was blessed to receive one. Anyone who knew him well knew he was a huge "mama’s and grand- mamas’ boy" for which he was very proud to be.
Austin’s memorial ser- vice will be held on Sat- urday, March 11 at The Southerly House at 1609 County Road 74 in Dothan, Alabama. Receiving hours will be from 2-6. Anyone is welcome to come share their love and show their respects for this well-loved young man.
