Harold L. Jerkins, a lifetime resident of Dothan, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in Mobile. He was 90.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 Friday, September 1, 2023 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Pastor Troy West officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

Mr. Jerkins was born May 29, 1933 in Dothan to Hamilton and Jodie Green Jerkins. After graduating from Wicksburg High School he attended the University of Alabama. He was an avid Alabama fan. Roll Tide!

Mr. Jerkins was an electrical engineer and loved working on electronics. He was employed with G.T.E. for 42 years prior to his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith and was a former member of Heritage Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jerkins is predeceased by his parents, his wives, Shirley Jerkins and Lyndia Dixon Jerkins, a son, James Harold Jerkins and a sister, Louetta Holmes.

Survivors include a daughter, Ramona Helms (Wriston) of Mobile; two grandsons, Jason Sansbury (Becky) of Mobile and Derek Sansbury (Tammy) of Mississippi; two great-grandchildren, Maddie and Emily Sansbury; a brother, William Earl Jerkins (Patricia) of Rehobeth and a special sister-in-law, Grace Davis of Dothan.
