Harold Talmadge “Bud” Hughes formerly of Florala, AL passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Hartford Health Care. He was 91 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with his son-in-law, Robert Gene Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Hughes was born in Hacoda, AL on October 24,1931 to the late Toby and Callie Jackson Hughes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Andrews Hughes; son-in-law, Lewis Stricklin; two brothers, Howard and Pete Hughes; two sisters, Edna Fleming, and Colvis Nell.

He is survived by two daughters, Pat Stricklin of Gulf Shores, AL, and Sandra G. Beard (Robert Gene) of Geneva, AL; four grandchildren, Kip Stricklin (Krystie) of Gulf Shores, AL, Kimberly Thomas (Pete) of Panama City, FL, Lacey Mixon (Blake) of Geneva, AL, and Kacey Brooks (Jerrad) of Alabaster, AL; seven great-grandchildren, Kylie, Avery, and Jacob Stricklin, Landon, Conrad, and Adela Mixon, and Elliott Brooks; two sisters, Willie Joyce Jackson, and Lois Hernandey both of Lockhart, AL; special friend, Debra Hughes of Florala, AL.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Blake Mixon, Pete Thomas, Kip Stricklin, Hunter Hughes, Jacob Hughes, and Johnathan Richter.
