Hedy Joan Holt, 72, of Enterprise, AL , passed away at home Thursday, February 23, 2012.

 

            Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chris Adams and Rev. Brandon Dixon officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time.

 

            “Jo Ann” to her family, she felt blessed to have been raised on a local farm by her beloved grandparents, John Ramer and Lavinia Smith Manning. 

 

            Joan was preceded in death by many loved ones including her son,  Kenneth Holt and sisters, Kathleen and Caroline.

 

            Survivors include her much loved children and grandchildren; daughter, Jacquelyn Denese Dixon, Enterprise, AL; son, Col. Jeffrey Holt, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD; grandsons, Jonathan Dixon, Enterprise, AL and Brandon Dixon, Jackson, MS. 

 

            Joan wanted to acknowledge the following survivors and their families, for a lifetime of love and shared memories; her sole surviving aunt, Pauline Sawyer and her husband, Sarge; brothers, Johnny Ray Ward, ( Joyce), Minneapolis-St. Paul, Jimmy Small, Enterprise, AL; her cousins who went from childhood playmates and accomplices to lifelong friends, Lois Wilson, Jeanette “Cissy” Cooper and Paulette “Pet” Gibson.

 

            Joan also wanted to acknowledge her companion and friend of 32 years, Paul Williamson, Enterprise, AL, for his loving care throughout these years, especially these last difficult few months  and for caring for her last special survivor, her Westie, Andy.
