Heidi Lanier of Enterprise, Alabama passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was 84.              

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel.  A private family graveside service will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise, Alabama with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service. 

Mrs. Lanier was born on December 21, 1936 to the late Karl and Margaret Eckstein Hentchel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lanier.  Heidi was a proud, loving, independent woman who raised five strong children, and she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She worked for over thirty years in retail at Yancy Parker’s until the time of her death.

Mrs. Lanier is survived by her children, Cynthia Gorzelnik of Enterprise, Holly Perry (Stephen) of Enterprise, Harold Lanier, Jr. (Theresa) of Dothan, David Lanier of Enterprise, and Stephen Lanier (Kim) of Houston, TX; brothers, Bert Hentchel (Jo) of Merritt Island, FL, and Helmut Hentchel (Jo) of Indiana; grandchildren, Hilary Martin (Caleb), Janice Qualls, Zachary Lanier (Kaitlyn), Tyler Lanier, Joshua Lanier, Duane Lanier, Morgan Lanier, and Jake Lanier; and great-grandchildren, Brody Martin and Kallie Qualls.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
