Helen J. Hobbs of Hartford, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Flowers Hospital. She was 85 years old.

She was born on September 14, 1936, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Mathias and Dellie Crutchfield.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald (Buck) Hobbs; and daughter, Angie Lee.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Hall and Rev. Stacy Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will begin receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Duncan (Charlie); grandchildren, Jeremy Lee (Lindsey), Tori Strickland (Ross), Amanda Duffy (Jon Shepherd), Matt Poston (Azusa); great grandchildren, Brittney Duffy, Jaylee Strickland, Tanner Strickland, Jenna Kate Strickland, Gabe Strickland, Ella Blair Lee, Ruth Ann Lee, Jonathan Shepherd, Ava Shepherd; son-in-law, Tony Lee; special sister-in-law, Jonnie Ruth Crutchfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought absolute joy to her life.  When spoken of by others, it is usually said how sweet a lady she was.

The family will gather at Helen’s home: 1505 N St. Hwy 123 Hartford. Monetary donations may also be made in her memory to the Shiloh Baptist Church Children’s Fund or the Christian Adoption Agency- lifelinechild.org.
