Henry Hollis Judah, a lifelong Newton resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at his residence. He was 81.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Newton United Methodist Church with Reverend Jean Smith and Reverend Samuel Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Newton United Methodist Church, 209 E King Street, Newton, AL, 36352.
Henry was born on March 10, 1941, in Dale County to the late Byron and Gussie Peacock Judah. He was a 1959 graduate of Newton High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Edward Judah.
Henry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ida Pearl Judah; son, Joe Judah; daughter, Cindy Mercer (Johnnie); a brother, David Judah (Nell); a sister-in-law, Yvonne Judah; 2 grandchildren, Hayden Judah and Faith Mercer (Ryan); and several nieces and nephews.
Henry owned and operated his own land surveying company since 1980, Henry Judah & Associates Inc., and worked up until his retirement in 2015. He was a member of ASPLS (Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors), and also previously served as the organization’s president. Henry was a member of Newton United Methodist Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kendall Potts, Ryan Bond, Jim Miller, Danny Miller, Lennie Watson, and Wes Watson.
