Henry Marion Wright, 93, died on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Chautauqua Rehab and Nursing Home, DeFuniak Springs, FL. He was born February 9, 1928 in the Marl Community, Samson, Alabama, the son of Marvin and Catherine Holland Wright.

After attending school in Samson, Henry joined the Air Force for a brief time after which he joined his father tending the family farm. He met and wed Audrey Bowdoin, daughter of Roy and Alberta Bowdoin of Samson in 1948. He and Audrey were married 55 years when she passed away in 2003. In 2004 Henry married Rochelle Crews Grace. He farmed his father-in-law’s farm in Coffee County and his own farm in Geneva County for many years. After retirement from farming he worked at the Samson John Deere tractor dealership for a short period of time.

Henry truly loved the Lord and he loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, going to gospel sings, and playing dominoes including chicken foot dominoes. In his later years he learned to enjoy watching Braves baseball and college football.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Henry was preceded in death by his daughter, Margie Wright Sutton of Troy, AL and two sisters, Evelyn Wright Crook of Hartford, AL and Ludie Wright Fulford of Samson, AL.

In addition to his wife, Rochelle, Henry is survived by his daughter, Marie Wright Norrell (Charles) of Mt. Juliet, TN; son-in-law, Ron Sutton of Troy, AL; grandchildren, Julie Norrell (Penny) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Debbie Sutton Wells (Mark) of Helena, AL, Michael Norrell (Kristie) of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Carson Norrell of Mt. Juliet, TN and Sutton Wells of Helena, AL; step-children, Sherri Kilpatrick (Treddy) of Geneva, AL, Anna Burgman (Fred) of Glendale, AZ, Mark Grace (Leisa) of Atlanta, GA, Belinda Hall (Dean) of Hiram, GA, and Toby Grace of Hiram, GA; sister, Kathernelle Wright Hagler of Huntsville, AL and brother, Bennett Wright (Ann) of Samson and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dayspring Hospice in Enterprise, AL and Regency Hospice in DeFuniak Springs, FL for their excellent care of our dad for the past two years.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Warren, Holloway, Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Geneva, AL followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, Samson.
