Henry Winfield Smith

Henry Winfield Smith, a resident of Headland, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at his residence. He was 68 years old.

Henry was born on September 5, 1953 in Niagara Falls, NY to William and Dorothy Smith. While his father served honorably in the military, his family traveled place to place in his younger years. Henry lived most of his young life in Andalusia, AL. He worked for the City of Dothan for many years as a recycle collector and later retired. Henry had the biggest heart and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. Henry was a member of Mt. Zion Assembly of God in Grimes, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jessie Black.

Survivors include his son, William (Karen) Smith, grandchildren, Ashley McCrackin, Austin (Carli) Bone, Brandon Bone and Hunter Bone; four great grandchildren, brothers, William Thomas (Dinah) Smith, John Nolan (Linda) Smith and James Royce (Charlotte) Smith; brother-in-law, James Black; and several nieces and nephews.
