Hildegard Caldwell a longtime resident of Daleville, AL passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Flowers Hospital.  She was 95.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, March, 9, 2024 at Daleville Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Carter officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Hildegard immigrated to the US after meeting the love of her life, George.  She supported his aviation career and along the way made a home out of every place they were stationed.  She was an outgoing, social person and loved to entertain in her home. She was a charming, sincere and thoughtful person.  She showed kindness and support to all others with a selfless heart. Hildegard sold Real Estate in Daleville for several years and was a Million Dollar Sales Rep two years in a row.  She was a member of the Pilot Club of Daleville and was the Daleville Woman of the Year for 1976.  She was also a longtime member of Daleville Methodist Church.  She was active in her church and in the community.

She was a beloved mother, Oma and Great Oma to her family and friends.  She will always be remembered as leaving everyone with a smile and feeling good about themselves.

She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 2 brothers and an infant grandson.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, George Caldwell, Dothan, AL; 2 daughters, Christina Dyken (Greg), Indiana; Diane Caldwell, Yuma, AZ; 2 sons, Thomas Caldwell (Rona), Wade, NC, Michael Caldwell (Marcella), Heath, TX. 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; and a special thank you to her friend, Rachel David, and her caregivers, Susan Chapman and Kristin Cochran, Adrianne Cochran.
