Howell Ronald Benton of Samson, AL passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021. He was 69 years old. There will be a private burial at Travelers Rest cemetery.

Ron was born in Pensacola, FL on December 9, 1951 to the late Harvey Howell Benton and Ethel Marie Thames Benway. Ron served in the United States Air Force. He owned and operated a nursey and landscaping business south of Samson, AL for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Maelease Benton, and stepfather, Arthur Benway, Sr.

He is survived by one daughter and wife, Ronnie Licata (Jodie) of New York; one grandson, Cooper Licata, and one granddaughter, Teagan Licata both of New York; three sisters, Sharon C. Keim (Warren) of Kansas City, MO, Patricia L. Wahlman of Orlando, FL, and Kimberly South (Matt) of Nashville, TN; two brothers, William Steven “Bill” Benton (Sun Hui) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Arthur M. Benway (Jonna) of Enterprise, AL.
