Ms. Ima Katherine Longgrear Barfield of Dothan passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at her residence. She was 87.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Grimes and Reverend Rick Glenn officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, October 4, 2013. Flowers will be accepted.

 

Ms. Barfield was a graduate of Dothan High School Class of 1945, she retired in 1987 after 27 years with Sears, she was also a member of the Sears retiree club, an active member of the Dorothy Quick Senior Center. Her greatest joy was taking care of others while being a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lyda Longgrear; brothers, Billy, John, James, Morgan Longgrear; sons, Bob Coleman, Ricky Parker; granddaughter, Michelle Coleman.

 

Survivors include her; daughter, Sheila Davis and special friend Tommy Ferguson of Dothan; son, Frank Coleman and wife Wanda of Panama City, Fl.; grandchildren John Coleman and wife Amber, Michael Coleman, Marlene Graham and husband Chris, Jason Coleman, Anna Cooper and husband Ken, Brent Barley, Stacy Davis, and Matt Davis; great grandchildren, Taylor, Emberleigh, Linda, Trevor, Tyler, Caden, Kenly, Rachel, Jessica, Amber, Kamden and a very special great grandson Parker Davis; great-great grandchild Elijah, and several nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, Jean Longgrear of Dothan, and Betty Longgrear of Panama City, Fl.
