NEWVILLE…Inez White Taylor Roney, a former resident of Newville and Headland, died early Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 97.

   Graveside services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Thursday, March 25, 2021, in the Newville Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newville Baptist Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 13, Newville, AL 36353.

   Mrs. Roney was born and reared in Newville, daughter of the late George Wiley White and Nora Brannon White. She was a member of the Newville Baptist Church. Mrs. Roney lived in Newville most of her adult lifetime, but also lived in Azalea Court Assisted Living in Headland for several years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Taylor and John Roney, her son, Ronnie Taylor, her daughter, Diane Taylor Bradley, her sisters, Robbie McCoy, Emma Mae Whitlock, Ruby Henderson, Louise Ward and Martha Peeke, her brother, Oyette White, and a granddaughter, Mary Beth Taylor.

   Surviving relatives include her step-daughter, Trilbia Ausley (Joe), Dothan; a sister, Peggy White, Dothan; a brother, George W. White, Jr., Oklahoma City; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Taylor Scott, Newville; eight grandchildren, David Williams (Krista), Chris Spears (Bryan), Keith Taylor (Cathy), Holli Adams (John), Emily Nesiba (Patrick), Garrick Kirkland (Kenna), Curt Ausley (Brooke) and Kelli Marchman (Jay); several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
