Ms. Irene Galloway Baker, of Geneva, Alabama, passed away Thursday, March 08, 2018 at Wiregrass Medical Center.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with her nephew, Reverend Norman C. Simmons officiating.  Pallbearers will be her six grandsons. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Geneva with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.

  

Mama Rene was the last remaining of 10 children of Horace Greely Simmons and Sitie Cooper Simmons. She is survived by her four children, Barbara Williams (Jim), Tom Bowdoin (Doris), Eugene Galloway (Donna), Freda Williford. She leaves her 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great granddaughter to remember her and tell her story.

 

 She requested any donations be made to the Cemetery Fund of Corner Creek Cemetery, 4357 County Road 10, Samson, Alabama 36477 where her parents and many siblings and large extended family are buried.
