James Carl Smith

 

James Carl Smith, age 85 of Ashford, passed away late Friday evening, January 22, 2021.

Graveside services for Mr. Smith will be held at 2pm on Monday, January 25, 2021 in the Ashford City Cemetery with Reverend Adam Habbard and Reverend Eric Varnum officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the Wayside Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith was born January 14, 1936 in Cottonwood to the late James Millard and Maybell Debbins Wiggins Smith. He lived in Ashford all his life and was the former owner of Ashford Radio & TV and Smith Plumbing and Electric. Mr. Smith was also a longtime member of Wayside Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Randy Smith, and two brothers, Earl Smith, and Ray Smith. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy (Jerry) Watkins and Dawn Beaver; a brother, Billy Joe Smith; a sister, Carrie Mae Dickerson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Lynn Watkins,  Kacie (Kenny) Puent, Kellie (Corey) Smith, Katie Turner, Amy Elmore,  Dusty Harris, Louis (Brittany)Edmondson, Misty (Wes) Mizell; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
