JAMES CAROL LEWIS

DALEVILLE, AL… James Carol Lewis, a resident of Daleville, Alabama, passed away early Monday morning, April 10, 2023, at a Dothan hospital. He was 64.

The family will have a private memorial service.

Mr. Lewis was born in Dothan, Alabama to the late Carroll Davie Lewis and Annie Loise Guilford Mertes. In his childhood years, he lived in Cottonwood, Alabama, where he attended Cottonwood High School. James had previously lived in Cottonwood, AL and Dothan, AL, before moving to Daleville, AL about twenty five years ago. Mr. Lewis worked in auto paint and body his entire life. He was a former member of the United Game Foul Organization and the Houston County Coon Hunters Association. Mr. Lewis was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Strickland; and his grandson, Cameron Turner.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, D’renda Lewis; his daughter, Crystal Middleton (Kevin), his sons, Michael Hicks, Brandon Hicks (Brenda), and Nic Lewis (Ashley); his sister, Ann Spurling (James); his grandchildren, Michael Hicks, Bradley Lewis, Christopher Lewis, Brooklyn Turner, and Elizabeth Turner; and his three great-grandchildren.
