COLUMBIA. . .James David “J D” Jones, a resident of Columbia, died early Sunday morning, June 13, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. He was 76.

       Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 17, 2021, in Gardens of Memory with Amy Green officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

       Mr. Jones was born and reared in Houston County, son of the late Franklin Monroe Jones and Essie B. Jones. He lived in the Columbia area all his lifetime. Mr. Jones was formerly employed as an electrician.

       Surviving relatives include a daughter, Diane Blankenship (Robin), Blakely, GA; two granddaughters, Michelle Sanders Lynch (Madison), Daphne, AL and Christina Sanders Yeager (Jason), Webb, AL; three great-grandchildren, Noah Martinez, Hunter Yeager and Alyssa Martinez.
