James “Eddie” Parr of Hartford, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022.  He was 73 years old.                   

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Gary Vickers officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Enterprise, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. continuing until the time of service. 

Eddie was born on January 12, 1949 in Enterprise to the late Joseph Jackson Parr and Myrtice Blocker Parr.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Parr. He loved fishing, and he also loved classic cars. 

Eddie is survived by his children, Joseph A. Newsome (Stephanie Carter) of Samson, Jennifer Blackmon (Norman) of New Brockton, Chad Newsome (Kim) of New Brockton, and Keith Hornsby (Larhonda) of Opp;  sister, Pamelah Carr (Douglas) of Willis, Texas; grandchildren, Hannah Hatfield (Trevor), Mindy Mock (Justin), Cameron Hornsby, Tristan Cooper (Mahalie), Jannah Hornsby, Zach Carter and Emily Newsome; and 5 great-grandchildren.
