James Edward ( Ed ) Jeter, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, April 30, 2012. He was 77.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11 A. M. at the East Side Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend James Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in New Brockton City Cemetery, New Brockton, AL with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.


The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 11 A. M. one hour prior to the service.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Pkwy ste. 2, Dothan, Al. 36302 or the East Side Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.


Ed was preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Rushie Jeter.


Survivors include his wife; Jean Jeter, Daughter Beth Odom and Son Scott Jeter all of Dothan.


Five grandchildren; Adrienne Smith, Ryan Odom, Talia Jeter, Alatia Jeter and Cole Jeter; Three great grandchildren


Three Step children; Cheri Kelley and husband Marty and Ronny Langley and wife Jill, of Colquitt, GA and Ricky Langley and wife Sandra of Blakley, GA


One sister; Francis Aven and husband Ted of Westhoff, TX and One Brother; Charles Jeter and wife Peggy of Enterprise, AL
