Mr. James Hubert Simmons of Samson, Alabama, passed away Saturday March 21, 2020 at the age of 81.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Simmons was born February 2,1939 in Alabama to the late Elzie Lewis and Lillie Odell Simmons.  He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time with his family. He really enjoyed his farm life, especially raising cattle and baling hay. He worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic in his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Ofelia Simmons, one son James Hubert Simmons, Jr. and 6 siblings.

He is survived by his children: Virginia O. Dyal (Keith) of Samson, AL, Gail Jenkins (Sonny) of Winter Garden, FL, Jeff Simmons of Ocoee, FL, Mark Simmons (Jennifer) of Samson, AL, Diane Gable (Jeff) of Ocoee, FL;  two sisters: Margaret Blitch (Curry) of Winter Garden, FL, and Becky Adams of Ocoee, FL, as well as 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
