James L. DeSchepper of Enterprise passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.  He was 78.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Liberty Church of Christ Cemetery with Brother Keith Ellis and Brother Littleton Chatham officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home directing.   The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Masks and social distancing will be required to attend these events.

James L. (Jim) DeSchepper was born September 14, 1942 to Camiel “Mill” DeSchepper and Sadie (Cleppe) DeSchepper in Pipestone, Minnesota.  After high school he went to Minneappolis, Minnesota where he attended Dunwoody College.  After graduation from Dunwoody he joined the Air Force.  He spent Basic Training in Texas and was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi for two years.  From there he went to Tyndall Air Force Base near Panama City, Florida where he met and married Jeanette Hammock.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Mitchell; and brothers, Glenn DeSchepper, Richard DeSchepper and Donald DeSchepper.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jeanette DeSchepper of Enterprise, AL; sons, Michael Mell DeSchepper (Fredia) of Enterprise, AL and Brian James DeSchepper of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Johnathan DeSchepper, Anna DeSchepper, Vicki DeSchepper, Ryan DeSchepper, Lee Jenkins and Rachel Jenkins; and great-grandchild Natalie Jenkins.
