James Lamar Whitehead, a resident of Ashford, AL, died Thursday, March 22, 2012. He was 82.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2 P. M. at the Antioch Baptist Church on Rocky Creek Road, Ashford, with Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 2 P. M. Saturday, 1 hour prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 3250 S. Rocky Creek Road, Ashford, AL 36312.

Mr. Whitehead was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Whitehead of Ashford; One son, Ronnie Whitehead and wife Lisa of Ashford; One daughter, Deborah Wright and husband John of Headland; One sister, Betty Hatcher of Ashford; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

Active pallbearers will be; Bernard Womack, Asher Wright, Matt Murphy, Allen Corbin, Jeff Dekle and Don Dekle. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the “ Senior Class “ of Antioch Baptist Church.
