James Ray Shelley, age 59, a resident of Webb, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at Southeast Health.

Private services for the family will be held at a later date at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church “Cemetery Fund,” 6952 Hwy 134 East, Columbia, Alabama, 36319.

James was born July 7, 1963, in Henry County to the late George Edward and Annie Mae Shelley. He spent most of his life in Houston County where he worked as a laborer for Headland Peanut House and Co-Op for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Dorothy Lewis, Ann Pippin, Lorene Smith and Ruby Ward, three brothers, Christopher Shelley, Shelby Ray Shelley and Johnny Shelley.

Survivors include his brothers, Terry Shelley (Pamela) of Dothan, Allen Shelley of Dothan, Roger Shelley (Johanna) of Vero Beach, FL, J.B. Shelley (Tammy) of Eufaula, Freddy Shelley (Donna) of Webb; sisters, Susan Jervis of Pittsburgh, PA, Jerry Vasko of Eufaula.
