Mr. James Robert "Jimmy" Fuqua of Ozark, Alabama died Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was 59. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Billy Gaither and Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, April 2, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. in the chapel at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

Mr. Fuqua was born April 24, 1952 in Ozark, Alabama. He graduated in 1970 from Carroll High School where he served as Student Government Association President. In 1974, Mr. Fuqua graduated from Auburn University. He continued his education at Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1977. Mr. Fuqua established his law firm in Ozark in 1977. He later formed the partnership of Fuqua and Kominos where he practiced until his death.

Mr. Fuqua was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Ozark. He was a member of the Dale County Bar Association and served on the Public Building Authority for the City of Ozark. Mr. Fuqua was an avid Auburn fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lamar (Bob) and Estelle Skipper Fuqua, and a granddaughter, Jeyla Brielle Bowler.

Mr. Fuqua is survived by daughters: Kristie (Craig) Phillips of Ozark, Natalie (Ben) Coale of Mobile, and Emily Fuqua of Ozark; sister, Sharon (Bud) Yarbrough of Daphne; brother, Roy Lee (Jan) Fuqua of Ozark; grandchildren, Madeline Susanne Phillips, Mary Frances Phillips, Hunter Cole Phillips, Helen Ann Coale, Randolph Benjamin Coale, Jr.; a close friend, Connie Sexton of Ozark; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
