James Robert “Jimmy” Sass, Jr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Southeast Health due to complications of COVID-19. He was 48 years old.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

Jimmy was born on April 6, 1973, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late James Robert Sass, Sr., and Mary Johnson King. Jimmy moved to Dothan when he was two years old and was a graduate of Dothan High School. He later attended Shelton State Community College. He was employed with Southern Nuclear at Farley Nuclear Plant for the last 13 years. Jimmy loved both his family and his Farley family. He loved music, especially the group Phish. He was a  member of First United Methodist Church of Dothan.

Jimmy is predeceased by his father, James Robert Sass, Sr., paternal grandparents, John and Mary Sass; maternal grandparents, Joe and Ruby Johnson; an aunt, Debbie Johnson McLain; and uncles John and Rod Sass.

He is survived by his son, Zachary Ryan Sass; grandson, Atticus Wyatt Sass; his mother, Mary Johnson King; sisters Karen Alissa Jones and Mary Caitlin Clabough (Stephen); niece, Eva Marielle Clabough; nephew, Oliver Grey Clabough; aunts Vivien Harrison Brookins and Midge Sass Mamatas; many cousins and friends also survive.
